By participating in events like the WeCareCMH Spring Golf Classic you are helping purchase essential, lifesaving equipment for patients like baby Wyatt- CMH’s first Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Baby!
"Wyatt came into the world at 1:36 am. on Saturday February 16, 2019. Soon after it sounded like he was having trouble breathing. They did chest x-rays and other tests. It was scary at first, especially when they came back and told me they wanted to put him on a CPAP machine. This machine supports newborns that need higher levels of oxygen to keep their lungs open and assists them with breathing. He was on the machine for 25 hours. I found out afterwards that Wyatt was the first baby at Cambridge Memorial to use this machine. In the past newborns would be transferred to other hospitals, sometimes as far as London, to receive care. Wyatt also has a sister just 10 ½ months older than him and we’re fortunate because we had family locally to help us, but having this machine at CMH was a saving grace. It helped our family stay together and close to home.
Thank you to all of the dedicated professionals that helped Wyatt breath and to the donors that put equipment like the CPAP machine into the hands of CMH healthcare professionals."
