Cambridge Tim Horton owners donate $55,000 to Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation WeCareCMH Campaign
Seven families of Cambridge Tim Hortons owners have come together to donate $50,000 and become a CaringBusiness in support of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation’s capital expansion campaign - WeCareCMH.
The Trombley, Wakely, McGlinchey, and Skropolis families came together in 2015 to pledge $50,000. Yesterday the Gomes and Ayoubi families joined them to help complete their generous investment.
Cambridge Tim Horton owners have always been loyal supporters of the CMH Foundation’s annual fundraising events, including Best Bites, Transformation Gala and the Trees of Caring Star/Banner Program.
Yesterday these families proudly presented Lisa Short, Executive Director of CMHF with an additional $5,000 for the WeCareCMH campaign bringing the total donation to $55,000.

“We know the Hospital Foundation is working hard to raise much needed funds for equipment for the new wing at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Adding something extra to our commitment as a Caring Business is our pleasure and we hope it reminds people of the importance of investing in local healthcare to serve everyone. It’s amazing that the source of the donation comes directly from our customers, one two dollar coffee at a time” said Mark Trombley, Tim Horton Store Owner representing the group.
“100% of the funding for equipment for our local hospital needs to be raised by the community. The way this group of store owners have come together in support of the hospital means a lot. It was so good to get their call and to know that they were thinking of both CMH and our community’s wellbeing” Lisa Short, Executive Director, Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The Foundation is seeking other Caring Businesses and Caring Families who are also inspired to contribute to WeCareCMH, and be celebrated with special recognition in the new wing. The Foundation’s intent is that engaged donors will create an environment that will encourage others in the Region to become leaders in making community healthcare a priority.
