Cambridge businesses help to brighten the Trees of Caring Campaign
To celebrate the 30th year of Cambridge Memorial Hospital’s (CMH) Trees of Caring campaign the program is expanding into new corners of the community! As we continue our tradition of lighting trees in front of our hospital, local businesses are invited to lead our new Community Trees of Caring initiative by hosting a Tree of Caring of their own and collecting donations for CMH.
This program started last year with the support of Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa (just off Blair Rd.), and EPTCON Ltd (Bishop St. location). This year Trees will once again be shining brightly at both of these locations.
Langdon Hall has been a generous supporter of the Trees of Caring campaign and will continue to host a tree lighting event, in support of CMH on December 3rd. In addition to this event they will also have a staff giving campaign. In 2017 their efforts raised over $4,500 towards new equipment for the Women & Children’s Department at CMH, last year’s Trees of Caring’s focus.
Joining this community initiative for the first time to celebrate 30 years of Trees is Chartwell Retirement Residence (Queen Square), Renna Financial Team (Bishop St) and the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce (Hespeler Rd).
“The Trees of Caring Program is an amazing 30 year tradition and we are proud that it continues to shine brightly in our community. This is a wonderful time of year for all of us at the Foundation as so many donors join with us to honour someone special with a light on our trees. We are grateful for 30 years of caring and support and look forward to growing the program through our initiative that invites local businesses to get on board. We envision that in future years, Trees of Caring will light up offices, lobbies and outdoor spaces all across Waterloo Region. Helping Cambridge Memorial Hospital provide the very best healthcare for our families, friends and neighbours.” shares Lisa Short CMHF Executive Director
All Community Trees of Caring Partners are provided with a Marketing Toolkit including posters, donation boxes, light bulb ornaments and table signs as well as support from the CMHF staff team.
Over 300 generous donors have already given over $37,300 to our Trees of Caring. This year’s goal is to raise $270,000. These funds will assist CMH in purchasing specialized equipment for the new wing.
Each gift will provide care and comfort to patients at CMH. Lighting a bulb ($10) or string of lights ($250) can honour someone special your life, or the memory of a loved one.
Donations can be made securely online at www.cmhfoundation.ca, dropped off at the CMH Foundation Office (700 Coronation Blvd), or by calling 519.740.4966.
